Hotel Black Tulip - Porto Gaia - Vila Nova de Gaia

Good hotel with great amenities like wi-fi, laundry services, 24-hour reception, and a bar lounge area. The staff helped me find my lost necklace during my first stay. I highly recommend it for a cozy experience, especially around Christmas!

Clean hotel, appreciated to be so close to Cais de Gaia as well as El Corte Ingles Gaia shopping center thanks to good and incredible location. The breakfast was particularly good and nice hot with views down toward old town, and the food was lovely.

Clean hotel, affable staff & fantastic location by metro. Well-equipped and reasonably large room with a GORGEOUS view of the valley. Variety of goodies for breakfast.

The large terrace in my apartment provided a nice spot with a table and chairs. The views from the rooftop restaurant added a pleasant touch to my meal experience, offering a nice backdrop while dining.

The breakfast offerings were pretty lackluster, lacking variety and quality, with only the coffee standing out. The hotel's decor and amenities seemed dated, reminiscent of a bygone era, and there were instances of neglected plants that detracted from the overall ambiance.

I was impressed with the helpfulness of the staff, especially one particular woman at the front desk were really nice to assist me. The breakfast on the top floor offered good views of the city.

Some amenities were lacking.

Great Staff and Convenient Access to Porto

The staff was kind and helpful. One employee even assisted me with a problem despite not being a guest! The hotel is just a minute's walk from a tram stop. I did find the breakfast options to be a bit limited, which could definitely use some improvement.

The location is excellent, just a short walk from public transport options that make it easy to navigate the city. Breakfast boasts a solid variety, with seasonal dishes enhancing the experience. The bar area felt cramped and lacking in ambiance were good. Although the room was comfortable, noise from the street was occasionally disruptive during the night, affecting overall rest.

I enjoyed a lovely breakfast with a fine city view and found the free underground parking super convenient. The leisure room was a great spot to unwind, and I also appreciated the small gym for a quick workout.

It was just a great fit for a quick weekend visit in Vila Nova de Gaia with good price-quality ratio. Try to plan your breakfast early to avoid long waits for coffee cups.

Good option for families

Location was solid, only a 15-20 min walk to the old part. The breakfast had a great selection, even a lovely cake every morning!

It wasn't exactly a bargain, but it felt acceptable given the service.

The room was spacious, clean, and quiet. Enjoying breakfast on the 8th floor with a glass of fresh orange juice and a nice view was good! The metro stop right outside. I also appreciated the small gym that allowed for a quick workout before exploring the city.

The bar service felt a bit overpriced, especially for simple snacks like peanuts.

The breakfast here was excellent, offering views of the old town, and the staff was exceptionally friendly, plus the location near Galeria Vilanovence was convenient.

The location of this hotel was excellent for exploring the city. It was conveniently close to the metro station, making it easy to access all the attractions. it was a short walk away from the river, which was great for taking a leisurely stroll. The room itself was spacious and quiet, allowing for a comfortable night's sleep. The air conditioning worked well, which was a relief during the hot summer weather.

There were a few drawbacks during our stay. The bed was quite uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep.
